To all members,
Potash Branch of China National Inorganic Salts Industry Association, the Germu Municipal People’s Government of Qinghai Province, the Qinghai Institute of Salt Lakes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and CCPIT Sub-council of Chemical Industry Branch have decided to host the 2015 World Potash Conference in Germu City, Qinghai Province on July 9-11, 2015, in a move to exhibit the technical results and development achievements of the Chinese potash fertilizer industry, actively promote technical exchange, trade in product and cooperation with international counterparties and jointly propel technical advance and development of the world potash fertilizer industry. Following the successful 2008 World Potash Conference in Shanghai, the conference is a comprehensive international industry conference that will coincide with the fiftieth anniversary of the Qinghai Institute of Salt Lakes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the annual technical exchange conference of the Potash Fertilizer Industry Association. Now, all members and related institutions are sincerely invited to participate in the event.
China’s potash industry takes a decisive position in the world, and China is now the world’s fourth largest potash producer after Canada, Russia and Belarus. In particular, China’s potash industry has taken a long stride over the past years. In this context, Chinese enterprises have accelerated the pace to build foreign potash bases, China has continuously enhanced self-sufficiency of potash, and the change in the supply and demand of potash has remained as the focus across the world.
Germu City of Qinghai Province boasts a rich reserve of potash resources. The Qarhan Salt Lake in the city, the world’s largest of its kind, reserves more than 60 billion tons of soluble salt resources, and is home to 96.8% of China’s total potassium chloride reserve, 80% of China’s total sodium chloride reserve, 99.7% of China’s total magnesium chloride reserve, and 83.34% of China’s total lithium reserve. As China is now strengthening the effort to develop resources in salt lakes, Germu will steadily evolve from a “China Salt Lake” to a “World Salt Lake” in future, supported by government policy, pushed by the local government and guided by the industry association.
The conference is held to promote the combination between technology and capital in depth in the world’s potash industry through the seminar, about industry development, exchange of technology and information, display of resources and products, investment and trade faire, survey on the salt lake and potash enterprises and other forms. The conference will invite related leaders from relevant ministries, the Qinghai Provincial People’s Government and China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation to deliver keynote reports, invite top-level industry experts and researchers at home and abroad to give theme speeches, and invite China Chemical Industry News, China Agri-Production News, Agri Goods Herald, Science and Technology Daily, North Agri Goods News, AgriGoods Herald Net, Fert.cn, China-Product.org, 191.cn and other news media to report the entire progress.
